This summer, Saatchi Lates is offering Art After Dark on select Fridays as part of the Beyond Fashion series and the RHS Botanical Art & Photography Show. Don’t miss the final Lates event of the season—a Voguing Life Drawing workshop! Voguing, a dance style that originated in Harlem’s 1980s drag scene, was embraced by LGBT+ communities, especially within New York’s Black and Latino populations. These communities hosted "balls," where participants competed in drag, dance, and runway performances to win trophies. The dance, inspired by poses from a famous fashion magazine, features exaggerated movements and distinctive hand gestures. During the event, you’ll have the chance to sketch as voguing models, guided by an MC, perform in the vibrant Beyond Fashion exhibition.
